Description

The Mali-G31 runs at 650MHz and is ~50% faster than Mali-450MP in ODROID-C2. The Mali-G31 is the first generation Bifrost-based mainstream GPU from Arm. GPU performance was measured using glmark2-es2 “--off-screen”. Your assumption that you are a typical Odroid customer is fundamentally wrong. Same with your assumption that Windows is the standard, reference OS. Raspberry Pi is running Windows - we (Hardkernel) are not gonna do nothing becouse you saying that it is pointless libnm-1.24.2-1-aarch64 1025,2 KiB 2,22 MiB/s 00:00 [#######################################################] 100% HardKernel released several different devices between 2008~2014. RPi had only a SINGLE device the entire time.

The specs were still much lower than that of the ODROID C1 but hey, at least the did something, right? Well first of all it's a bad idea just to execute random stuff that's on the image, and flashing a u-boot that is just laying around is definitely a bad idea. I don't know if you can understand it, but the development of the Windows driver model and OS ports, and maintaining business relationships with the giant company Microsoft, require far more resources than you think. The ODROID C4 is in fact slower than the RPi4, the hardware is older, the CPU is slower, there are certain aspects where the C4 can beat the RPi4 but this is limited, a device like the N2 has far better chances here. KDE relies heavily on QT whereas MATE relies on GTK. Historically, the QT license has prevented me from using it. Recent events have reinforced my stance on avoiding the use of QT. wpasupplicant/stable 2:2.7+git20190128+0c1e29f-6+deb10u2 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:2.7+git20190128+0c1e29f-6+deb10u1]

The question is what would you want to use it for. Doing some LAN home server kinda things, for example, it has plenty power for that. ODROID-C4 is a new generation single board computer that is more energy efficient and faster performing than ODROID-C2 which was introduced over four years ago as the world's first affordable ARM 64bit computer. Tested with swayWM/Wayland. The KDE edition did only start to the xorg session so not useful yet(but i have not tested if the wayland session can be forced). And the Gnome installation/flashing was broken so i did not test further. BTW: Are you from Rene networks? I see same image on opnsense forum. Currently I am testing the opnsense tools for building arm64 images

There were only two scenarios where USB-C made sense. The first is for charging a portable device such as GO-Advance. The second is for space saving expansion such as exposing DP Alt-mode and/or Thunderbolt (PCIe) neither of which is available on C4[1]. A future SBC that exposes both would certainly benefit from USB-C. Thanks to the modern 12nm fabricated S905X3 CPU, the power consumption and heat dissipation are relatively very low. IMHO, using USB-C to power an SBC is more the result of a current fad than technical necessity. USB-C is used for data, for graphics and for power, as a result you better read the documentation of the hardware AND of the cable before plugging a cable into something. This so-called universality has become a mess and it is easy to find endless online threads of users trying to solve the issue of which cable to use for what. I guess we have to thank the Apple "think different" for that, Apple being the expert at trying to establish standard that do not survive, FireWire dead, USB-C became a mess, Thunderbolt adoption been quite questionable, except in Apple world.

ODROID-C4 is a new generation single board computer that is more energy efficient and faster performing than ODROID-C2 which was introduced over four years ago as the world’s first affordable ARM 64bit computer. I wasn’t able to get it to boot Armbian from the SD card with the eMMC attached, so I had to install the official Ubuntu Mate to the SD card. Once I’d done that I was able to bypass the eMMC and boot into Mate, from which I wiped the eMMC and flashed my Armbian image. The Flutter UI framework is powered by an upstream Linux kernel 5.4 and is ARM Mali GPU accelerated, the Home Automation example is supplied as a real world embedded Linux system development reference.
