Drawing Club is a true adventure and perfect for Reception and Year 1, though it can be adapted for Nursery and even as intervention in KS2. Based around the Golden Blend of picture books, tales and animations, it involves a short period of Time Together as a whole class followed by time with children exploring their ideas and creativity that can be adapted to how you believe is best. Decorate a T-shirt or plain canvas bag using fabric pens, embroidery, or tie dye, or try glue batik ! Allow the children to take ownership of their design or, alternatively, give them a theme or special occasion as inspiration for creating a design. Story Dough! can be explored with 2+ year olds and there is scope to use it with any age children who you feel need to grow confidence in finger strength, imagination, mark making and chat. Our Drawing Clubs are open to students in school years 5 to 9 who have a passion for drawing and would like to attend a weekly Saturday class. The Drawing Clubs are led by professional artists who are alumni of our postgraduate programme, The Drawing Year, and experienced in teaching children. The message centre enables our children to explore the joy of messaging, an approach to sprinkling extra joy over the top of their day, showing them how reading, writing and mathematics can be hidden in and around their room and outdoors too. Our children love hiding and finding – think pass the parcel, birthday presents, egg hunts and hide and seek. There is a buzz to be had, and it is this buzz that the Message Centre approach has at its heart.

Drawing Club: Notting DaleThis course is based at the Notting Dale Campus in North Kensington, Saturday's 11am – 1pm. Our Art Club is aimed at those who have a done a little drawing already and want to refresh their technique. The studio is well equipped and experienced art tutors will be on hand to help with ideas and guidance on materials. Bring your objects to draw or choose items from our props cupboard to make your own still life set ups. There will be opportunities for life and portrait drawing.
