The Outdoor Co-ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society was a group of several dozen women and a few men that had, since August 17, 2011, [1] organized regular gatherings around New York City, meeting to read and discuss books in public while topless. [2] [3] The primary objective of the group, besides enjoying the sun and book reading, was to create awareness that New York law allows toplessness in public and to change social attitudes to the exposure of women's breasts. The group's blog had reported that there had been no harassment of the participants by the police and very rarely by the public. There are a few nude spas in NYC, though ALL of them gender-segregated and not co-ed. One of the biggest is a Korean place called Spa Castle, and you can read my review of their Queens location (coming soon). They also have another location in Manhattan.

Pérez makes her captivating, emotion-laden images by inviting her subjects to interact with water, letting them connect with a powerful, elemental force of nature that helps them to strip off the facades of identity and ego and go inwards toward the core of who they really are. According to the New York Times, the events are not exclusive to women but would-be male guests "need previous participants to vouch for them." In the application, you'll also be prompted to include any dietary restrictions and disclosewhetheryou've been involved "in any incidents that could be considered inappropriate or disrespectful during a nude or semi-nude event."

It clearly wasn't because no woman would ever want to—when it's 90 degrees outside, who wouldn't rather be bare-chested than suffering under a shirt and bra? But most women didn't know they had this right, and those who did were often afraid to take advantage of it. So we decided to create a group to combat that ignorance and fear. We made it a book club because we loved books and loved hanging out with other people who loved books. And it's been going strong ever since. [14]

In March alone, reports of Neil’s Coffee Shop and 3 Guys closing on the Upper East Side made headlines. Now, local publication QNS reports that Bayside Diner, in Bayside, Queens, held its last day of service on March 28. The diner has served the area for more than six decades, originally under the name the Copper Penny Diner. Comedy Cellar owner buys a Greenwich Village McDonald’s But under this flawless skin is a rotten deception, one deepened by a social-media saturated society. ‘Most of the bodies we see online on a daily basis aren’t even real, but rather enhanced or modified by technology to conform to a current, unsustainable trend,’ says LA-based photographer Julia SH, who is exhibiting powerful, textured portraits of bodies rarely depicted in 21st-century media, presented in museum-like frames. ‘In the US, what little nudity permitted is usually shown in a sexual context. Seeing nudes in a museum is one of the only exceptions to this. I created a series where I framed my models as sculptures and works of art in the hope that the viewer will suspend any judgments about whether they find the models sexually attractive or not, or whether their bodies are socially “acceptable”. The more body types we are exposed to, the more pragmatic our view will become.’ Bare behinds certainly make the biggest splash, but the WNBR has quite a few stated goals: Primarily,it’s actually a demonstration in favor of car-free transportation alternatives and a healthier planet. As far as the bare-as-you-dare dress code, that’s in the name of showing that nudity isn’t necessarily indecent, and as a means to celebrate body positivity.
