Description

A Thousand Different Ways tells the story of Alice who has synaesthesia and is seen as been different and difficult as she tries to navigate her way through her life with her mother and brothers. Ahern's an accomplished storyteller, and her writing chops elevate this far above the normal holiday fare. I Love You so I have no prior expectations except that I assumed since it had been so phenomenally successful, the writing of the author must be good. It is time that we do not have enough of; it is time that causes the war within our hearts, and so we must spend it wisely.

Summary and reviews of The Gift by Cecelia Ahern - BookBrowse

Raphael crede că tânărului rebel i-ar trebui o lecţie, aşa că hotărăşte să-i povestească o întâmplare din care el a învăţat multe. If you are the publisher or author and feel that they do not properly reflect the range of media opinion now available, send us a message with the mainstream reviews that you would like to see added. Especially his one year old son is crying when he approaches, not recognizing any familiarity with his father. Alice which is the main character She can see your feelings with colours so like blue is for feeling sad .Me ha recordado un poco a Canción de Navidad por el personaje principal, pero hubiera dado lo mismo que estuviera narrado en otra época del año porque la Navidad no tiene casi peso en la historia salvo al final. I don't believe the message that time is precious and you should appreciate your loved ones was something most people needed to be told by an over privileged chick lit author. Cecelia Ahern creates very cute and cozy worlds with series messages, and as serious as they are, my heart always feels lighter for reading them.

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern | Waterstones

But as the book reads on Lou is taught some valuable lessons, and nearing the end of the book I actually came to like Lou a little bit. About people who, not unlike wrapped parcels, cover themselves with layers and layers until they present themselves to the right ones who can unwrap them and see inside. I suppose it's easy to be cynical about the character of Gabe in his mysterious guardian angel role, and I understand the whole point of this story is to emulate a type of Scrooge story in the city; a man who goes through an experience that forces him to see the world differently and prompts him to want to turn over a new-leaf. Get thinner, grow hair, yada, yada, yada, but when it requires a little faith in something you all go crazy. I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influenced my review of the book.It wasn’t one I would normally rush to start reading but the concept and style of writing had me hooked from the beginning. From happiness to cautioned, to anger and sadness, life can be more than overwhelming at times for Alice who thinks that staying away from people would be the safest option, or at least find a way of limiting contact to live her life as she wants. I was a little dubious about reading a Christmas novel in July but towards the end I really got into the festive spirit! When Lou invites Gabe, a homeless man who sits outside his office, into the building and into his life, Lou’s world is changed beyond all measure. There isn't a plot as such, it is a story of Alice’s life, but you can't help but be drawn to her and knowing you can't give her a hug (it's too much for her to cope with) I felt protective of her.
